For people who are familiar with traditional resume, here is an intersting article i read yesterday in Business Line supplementary Eworld dated Monday June 4,2007 page no 1 under the heading “Present your visume”.
The interesting part on the article is Vault Inc, a carrer consulting firm informally asked employers if they would watch a video resume if it were submitted to them and most said yes. Interestingly, The Employers also said video resumes would become a common addition to future job application.
How to shoot a Video Resume.
- You need a video camera or web cam (most laptops today comes inbuilt with webcam, thanx apple for driving it from front)
- Good lighting conditions
- Basic editing applications like Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere or Quicktime for Mac (which has the capability to capture video directly from webcam or external cameras)
- Sound filters
- Better encoding formats like H.264, Flv or WMV for Web and Mpeg2 for DVD
Resume in DVD will be more appealing if the projects done by the candidate made as a screencast movie and included in the DVD with Menus like Visume, Projets X, Y, Z.. etc.,

Nilesh,
Stop making exe.
Every computer nowadays comes default with Adobe Acrobat Reader which is free if not for download from adobe website. You can create or mix n match Word / text and Image / Video / Music / 3D Max objects and create a pdf and send which is the ideal for Visume.
